Our Mission…

PLAY is the best way to learn! Our mission is to provide a positive and fun experience for young children as they prepare for kindergarten. Social interaction, understanding others, and cooperation are important skills for school and home; at La Conner Co-op, both teachers and parents model these traits by working together in the preschool setting.

Who we are and…

The La Conner Cooperative Preschool (LCCP) is a community-driven, nonprofit early education program dedicated to serving the families of Skagit county. In the current school year, we have had the wonderful opportunity of serving 50 students, ages 0 to 5, and their families. By enrolling in our preschool programs, families commit to a September through May school year where their child attends 1-3 days per week according to their age.

How are we different?

Our preschool classes offer a cooperative model that actively engages parents in their child’s early learning journey. Through direct participation in the classroom, parents gain valuable insights into child development while working alongside experienced educators. This collaborative approach fosters a strong sense of community, enhances parental involvement in education, and equips families with essential skills to support their child’s growth. Most importantly, our cooperative structure strengthens the parent-child bond, creating meaningful shared experiences that reinforce the value of lifelong learning. By choosing La Conner Co-op Preschool, families demonstrate a commitment to quality early education and instill a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
